Treat Your Pain

Interventional pain management or interventional pain medicine is a medical subspecialty that treats pain with invasive interventions such as facet joint injections, nerve blocks (interrupting the flow of pain signals along specific nervous system pathways), and neuroaugmentation (including spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation).

Pain Management Treatments

Lumbar Radiofrequency Neurotomy
A type of injection procedure used to treat facet joint pain; small joints between the vertebrae in the back of the spine.
Cervical Facet Radiofrequency Neurotomy
Treats nerve pain in the neck and/or shoulder; “turns off” the specific nerve that carries information about pain.
Cervical Epidural Steroid Injection
Delivers steroids into the epidural space surrounding spinal nerve roots to help alleviate pain in the upper spine/neck.
Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injection
A treatment for chronic back pain; may be used to reduce the inflammation around the spinal nerves.
Lumbar Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection
Treatment option for back and leg pain; used to relieve pain arising from irritated nerves in the lumbar spine.
Medial Branch
Block
A procedure in which an anesthetic is injected near small medial nerves connected to a specific facet joint.
Spinal Cord Stimulation (Paddle Lead)
Electrical impulses relieve chronic pain of the back, arms, and legs, which prevents pain signals from being received by the brain.
Spinal Cord Stimulator Implant
An implanted device that sends low levels of electricity directly into the spinal cord to relieve pain.
Spinal Cord Stimulator Implant (Trial Procedure)
A candidate for spinal cord stimulation is scheduled for a trial run involving the insertion of thin wires with electrodes attached.
