Biography
Dr. David C. Johannesmeyer is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialized in sports medicine. He joined Lowcountry Orthopaedics in 2018 after completing a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery. Through the years he has been active in team coverage.
Born and raised in Summerville, SC, Dr. Johannesmeyer attended the University of South Carolina, graduating with Honors from the South Carolina Honors College. He completed medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama-Birmingham and his sports medicine fellowship at the University of New Mexico. His experience competing as a student athlete in the SEC, work with high school and collegiate sports teams, and continued participation in sporting endeavors provide him with a well-rounded perspective on treating athletes of all ages.
Dr. Johannesmeyer also enjoys spending time with his 4 children, running, triathlons, snowboarding, and relaxing at the beach. He looks forward to meeting you in person.
