Virginia Blease, PA-C

Virginia Blease is a Physician Assistant specializing in hand surgery at Lowcountry Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. She treats a wide range of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and upper extremity, including fractures, traumatic injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, arthritis, and epicondylitis, among many others.

Virginia earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and Psychology, from Presbyterian College. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the Medical University of South Carolina.

While she has a deep appreciation for all areas of medicine, Virginia is especially passionate about hand surgery. She finds it uniquely rewarding to treat conditions that directly impact a patient’s ability to perform everyday tasks and participate fully in the activities they love. Prior to specializing in hand surgery, Virginia practiced in interventional pain management with a focus on spine care and spine surgery.

Virginia’s approach to patient care is rooted in treating every patient like family. She strives to make sure each person who comes to see her feels heard, understood, and thoroughly evaluated, with care that is both compassionate and comprehensive.

Virginia is a member of the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (SCAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She has traveled on a medical mission trip to Romania and hopes to continue serving on future trips alongside her family.

Outside of the office, Virginia enjoys running, reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband and three children. Her husband is also a Physician Assistant. She is active in her church community, where she serves on the floral guild.
