Matthew Sanders, PTA
Matthew Sanders is a Physical Therapist Assistant with over 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy in the Summerville area, specializing in hips, knees, and shoulders. He most commonly works with patients on the day of total joint replacement surgery and throughout post-op recovery.
Matthew’s philosophy of patient care centers on identifying and addressing the underlying mechanical and muscular imbalances that contribute to movement dysfunction. By restoring functional movement patterns, strength, mobility, and dynamic stability, he helps patients move more efficiently and confidently. Treatment is individualized to support each patient’s ability to perform daily activities, work-related tasks, and recreational or hobby-specific activities with greater function and reduced risk of recurrence.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the College of Charleston and a Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Trident Technical College.
Born and raised in the Charleston/Summerville area, Matthew enjoys spending time with family and staying active outdoors through golf, soccer, fishing, and kayaking.
