Kylie Smith is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in orthopaedic spine surgery and osteoporosis/fracture prevention at Lowcountry Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Alongside Dr. Stovall, she treats patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar pain, offering treatment options that range from medication management and physical therapy to interventional procedures and surgery. She also cares for patients navigating osteoporosis, with a focus on fracture prevention and post-fracture recovery.

A Lowcountry native born and raised in Summerville, Kylie’s path to nurse practitioner began in 2015, when she joined Lowcountry Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine as a registered nurse at the surgery center. There, she cared for patients in pre-op, the recovery room, interventional procedure rooms, and the operating room, and went on to serve as the practice’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement coordinator. It was her time working closely with spine surgery and joint replacement patients during their immediate postoperative period that sparked her desire to take a more active role in helping patients regain function and return to their daily lives.

Kylie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina, graduating summa cum laude, and her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from Anderson University, also graduating summa cum laude. After completing her master’s degree in 2018, she transitioned into her current role as a nurse practitioner alongside Dr. Stovall. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Kylie believes excellent care goes far beyond diagnosing and treating. For her, it means listening to each patient’s concerns, understanding their goals, and building an individualized plan of care. She strives to make every patient feel heard, informed, and supported throughout their time with her.

Outside of the office, Kylie and her husband love to travel every chance they get. She’s also a passionate college football fan — go Dawgs!
